Sebring - Morning Practice March 14

Good morning from Sebring. This morning's hour long practice session has just gotten underway. Only the No. 44 is out right now.

Yesterday in qualifying, Lizards qualified 2nd (No. 46 - Richard Lietz), 4th (No. 45 Joerg Bergmeister) and seventh (No. 44 - Darren Law). The GT qualifying session finished without incident. However, in the P1/P2 qualifying session, the Mazda impacted the tire wall about halfway through the session. With the lengthy cleanup, the qualifying session did not meet the minimum required time. So IMSA officials made the decision that both qualifying sessions would be made invalid - and starting positions would be based on fastest lap times from the combined practice sessions in the days preceding qualifying.

So... even though we qualified 2nd, 4th, and seventh we will start third (No. 45) fifth (No. 46) and tenth (No. 44) on the grid.

In last night's practice session, all drivers were required to run a minimum three laps in order to be able to drive at night during the race. The No. 44 Porsche was delayed getting out to the session, and as a result two of the drivers (Neiman and Law) were not able to run their three laps. However, the stewards will allow Neiman and Law to drive at night because they are known drivers and have driven at Sebring before, but the car must start from the back of the grid.

The No. 44 will be the only Lizard Porsche out in this morning's practice session. The engineers of the No. 45 and No. 46 made the call to use this time to complete race prep rather than track time.

Reminder that we will be broadcasting team radio Saturday - during morning warmup and the race.
